I left classroom teaching over a decade ago — I had an incredible school and principal who let me experiment with learning spaces, nonconventional curriculum, playfulness, and more. But 35 students experiencing this wasn’t enough - after getting my Master’s Degree I realized the road to impact was through teacher education and largescale consultation with Ministries of Education, school districts, and companies. In each, I help devise high-level strategy for increasing student-led learning with technology will also designing playful and innovative trainings to access the content and empowering global partners along the way.

I am obsessed with what motivates people - kids, adults, teachers in particular - so my Master’s Thesis focused on measuring motivation. Since then, I have tried to imbue science and research and monitoring and evaluation into all of my projects. As a community lead for Google.org’s Dynamic Learning project, I helped design the measurement instrument, collection protocol, and final reporting as well as the curriculum and community engagement strategy.

Ever since being a science and outdoor educator, I’ve been passionate about creating authentic and playful science experiences for kids. This led me to a series of "teachers in the field” research experiences, using webinars, video, and more to connect my students with real. Today, I have translated that drive into creating the National Outdoor Book Award-winning “50 Hikes with Kids” series - I am now on my 4th installment - each encourages kids to lead the way and play as they learn to respect and adventure outdoors.

I love working with executives, such as the IATED Conference in Spain, to help strategize, create a vision for transformation in their learning practices, and model and train others to be the same. I am working on my 5th year of added playfulness to the conference series, including yoga and social emotional learning, supporting to find diverse keynotes and programming. Other consultancies include digital teams at Nike, Facebook, and Apple to help them all design engaging, phenomenal learning experiences for their staff and participants. I use a variety of project management frameworks to bring visions across the finish line such as agile and PMBOK.
